The food scene in Tbilisi is gaining momentum year after year. If 12 years ago we only saw local restaurants offering exclusively authentic food, then times have changed. In recent years, new restaurants and initiatives changed the face of culinary in Tbilisi. The Western world has caught up with the East and now you can see places decorated with innovative ideas, meticulous food accompanied by excellent service, use of natural ingredients that grow in the area and the pleasant surprise is, that it is cheap. The price of a dinner or lunch in one of the best restaurants in the city will not exceed a third of the price of a similar meal in most of the western capitals. It's true that you will still here the words Khachapuri, Khinkali and Tekmali but hey, Tbilisi has a lot more to offer now.
