The Full Guide to
Georgian Bureaucracy
Written by Emil Goncharov
One of the most notable advantages when it comes to doing business in Georgia is the easy and simple bureaucracy process. While we have been accustomed to long procedures in any action related to public institutions, the situation in Georgia is different. During the term of former Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili, the President changed everything related to registration and bureaucracy so that all issues that depend on public institutions can be addressed under one roof.
When it comes to Tbilisi, a unique and beautiful structure was erected, with white domes and glass walls that underpin all the bureaucratic issues associated with company registration, land acquisition, real-estate transactions, permits, and more. All the required steps to establish a company or purchase a property can be done in 1-8 days (20-150 Lari must be paid to expedite receipt within one business day).
It is important to note that in recent years Georgia has been selected as one of the 10 easiest and most convenient countries for doing business worldwide. You will not encounter any serious problems here that will delay or restrict you in any of your investments. In Georgia, there are no restrictions on investments by foreign nationals/companies (besides buying agricultural land) and there are no special requirements or taxes for foreign investors.
In the case of purchasing a property in Georgia, the transaction and registration is being made in the white roof building you can find in the picture above using passport only. You can read all about opening a account in Georgia in the following article .
